A great day with the old man
« on: Jan 01, 2013, 08:47 PM »
Got to head out today with my dad. He's getting older and starting to worry more about heading out. He's the guy who got me started and taught me a lot. Man does it feel good to get him out there!

That's great.
It's days like today you will remember forever.
Congratulations to you for motivating your dad to go out.

That's awesome Tafts. In my case my dad is definately getting older, but is in better shape than me!!! Darn desk job!

Such a great family sport.
Most of the times that I go these days there are 3 generations of us out there making memories, flag or no flag.

Good times! My Dad also taught me to fish. I miss him dearly. Cherish the time you have.

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad.

Yeah it was great. He loves ice fishing!  Funny thing is that every time out he tells me the same stories about the same trips when he was a kid, about each lake we go to. The same stories about how that house used to not be there, how when he was a kid there were more perch, about the time his uncle caught a walleye... I used to get annoyed about hearing the same stories, now I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Important part too... Lots of flags, mostly slime darts, but some nice bass and some nice perch! Enough perch for a fish fry on his birthday tomorrow!
