So we had good ice this year and everyone and their brother was clogging up the easy access places I usually fish. One day I took a buddy and we went to a hard to access spot that requires thick rugged forest hiking to the lake arm. If I were to do this by myself I would need to pack super lite, so something like a pack basket through the forest area then sled runners when I reach the hard water. I’m a build it guy but open for ideas. So far just thinking a woven pack basket and making sled runners out of thin wall aluminum tube.
Payload may go something like this. Compact 6in auger, one rod, Marcum 2.0 troller, 3 leg folding chair, quart of water, hand held GPS, small tackle kit, skimmer, and a fish bag. I want both hands free so just carrying a bucket with these items is not what I’m looking for.
