trailer-sleeper-shack build
« on: Dec 16, 2018, 02:55 PM »
Construction has commenced on my new bob house, so i figured I would share some progress.  The trailer is 6'x12' modified with leveling jacks welded to the corners and the stud walls are 8' tall.  The roof is a 6 pitch and I'm hoping to get the metal roof on this week.  I tore down a busted up RV and salvaged the door and all the windows, a propane stove/oven, and forced hot air heater.  Some other features soon to come are a 100 watt solar panel and some bunks.  Gotta keep the Mrs. comfortable if I want to maximize my time spend out on the ice this winter.

Just a question, why so high?

X2

When all the heat rises to the ceiling you’ll have plenty of extra room to be cold below it. Just playing. Haha

But make sure you have some fans.

The height is to make for some decent headroom in the loft. I wanted to make it about a foot shorter but was out voted by my crew. I’m hoping two fans with some ductwork top to bottom will push the heat to the floor

Yeah you should be good then! And yeah with a loft that will definitely make it more livable up there! Are you thinking a full loft area or more just bunks?

slow but steady progress. got the windows, bunks, table, stove and fish hole in.  Hoping to plumb the propane, hook up the solar panel and lights this weekend.

Did you build the frame or modify a trailer frame?
