Favorite Gill Jig.

I have my favorites. Demons, shrimpos, ratsos, stingers, and various tears. What are your favorites?

I really like shrimpos, ratsos, and the smallest jigging raps. I will have to try these bobber fry though... sounds like everyone is getting into them with these!
if anybody from michigan will help me out with the lakes and stuff up here I'd really appreciate it since I'm new to the area.

A Hali jig is my go to bait for any panfish.  If I dont get anything on them I usually go to some different tear drops or a jigging rapala.  If that fails then I go to the sweedish pimple.

marmooska, bought a couple some years back at Dick's. Liked them so well that I went back and bought all they had left. I like trying new jigs, especially any that Dave Genzs show cases. When the fishing gets tough I always sharpen or touch up my hookpoints on a red/yellow marmooska and usually get a few to take home for fresh fishfry!

For strictly bluegills, I like a size 14 plain hook with a horozontal size 10 dropper jig.......chartreuse or bust.....The plain hook get the inactive fish and the chart. dropper get the active guys.  I really like this rig and sometimes go with three baits if I feel like being fancy.....lol.  I like them to be tipped with spikes or wax worms or a combination of both.  Plus, I like the 2-hooked rig because ....well have you ever caught 2 gills throught the ice at the same time...what a hoot.

I agree with the two hooks on one line, not just because they are so fun but also if there are fish up higher in the column it makes it easier to catch them and possibly catch more inactive ones on the bottom, last time i was out a rat finkee on top and a fat boy on bottom was the ticket.

I can't say that I have a favorite, because it seems they want something different every day. Today it was the fifth jig I tried. It was glow white with a pink head and black dots, tipped with 2 spikes. They wouldn't touch anything else!

The more fish we release, is more fish we all can catch.  b/c we all like to catch.   Catch, Photo, Release!!  Such an easy concept, but so hard for others to understand!!!!!
