Vexilar Problem
« on: Jan 11, 2015, 07:54 PM »
Just started having this problem a few days ago.  When dropping a lure down the hole, there will be a ghost signal from the top to however low I drop my lure.  After awhile, it will clear off but it makes reading what is there really hard.  Gain was turned almost all the way down and it still happened.  Vexilar is a 20 and three years old.  I tried searching using google, but couldn't find anything about this issue.  Any help appreciated.

Some times braided line ices up and appears on the vex, once the ice melts it goes away.

Two pound Vanish.  Buddy fishing next to me with the same set up including lure, line, and vexilar didn't have the problem.

I have had 2lb vanish freeze up the same way as braided line in high wind and blowing snow.  It does show the ice on the line, even with the gain all the way down.
