Good evening ,dry day here temperature in the forties felt more like thirties with steady winds of ten mph.
IFF great news about your store really thought it would never open.
FishinJohn glad your cooler is empty and only smoked meat orders left to complete. I'm assuming what you call a Seneca deer came from native American reservation where they have their own regulations. happy to hear both Rocko and Bob want to come back next year. Enjoy your party.
Ice Wanderer maybe you should get another pair of creepers to wear on trips to the boiler. Hope your not in to much pain. May the MRI give doctor clue to helping you heal.
Eddie glad you made it into work great you have such a good relationship with your regular mechanic. I have a suggestion for workers not wearing a red shirt they put a dollar in a jar money collected given to veterans organization.
Wallyworld quite the weather change from one day to the next. Your baked treats looks delicious any room going to be left for the presents in your vehicle.
Hunts2long glad your daughter live close by and can help your wife with errands . Nice that most major supermarkets now have the electric carts.
Tom Turkey may the turkey thaw in time to cook for Christmas dinner .good story about the kitten.
Whopper Stopper happy you had a good trip enjoy the fish fry. is 6 walleyes the daily limit of amount you may have in your possession. Nice of you to visit Oliver sure it made his day.

A good night to all may your holiday shopping be done and house decorated. Best to anyone who gets out fishing.

Good Morning Everyone,
27* with strong winds this am, high of 34 today.

Wally...wishing you and Mr.WW a safe trip today on the roads over to Mass., busy traveling day today. Fantastic job on all the treats, they look scrumptious!!
Steve...very good suggestion, will pass that along next week when I return.
Dom...hope things are going well for you Sir! Wishing you and your family a Very Merry Christmas as well...
Marv...great report, quite a road trip to that lake, wow! Glad you got to spend some time and catch up with Oliver...I bet he really enjoyed that!
Tom...enjoyed that story of catching the kitten, never did have much luck with the old box trap!   ;D:clap:
Jeff...hope that shoulder is feeling a little better today!
H2...glad your wife had a chance to get out and do a little shopping with your daughter, awesome! Best wishes sent to her on her recovery.

Checked a few of the local lakes yesterday to see how they faired from the heavy rains we had. As expected, the shorelines were shot and the ice looked real sketchy. Back to the waiting game again here....
Got most of my shopping completed yesterday, going to finish that off this morning...absolutely nuts out there!
I did however stop at a Mom Pop type tackle shop an older gent ran ( 82 ) to pick up a few items. Had to call in advance to set up an appointment. That was pretty neat. Looking at many of the pictures he had up, I started pointing at guys I recognized which lead us into about a half hour of great conversation.
Cawfee's on...best wishes to those last minute shoppers!   :flex:
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good Morning! 26 degrees and looks like a nice day on the way.

WW...Safe travels and Merry Christmas to you, Mr.WW and the rest of the family. Have fun.

Seems funny to see so much water in the river this time of year. They are reporting that in early Dec. the lake was about 9 feet above its norm. It had dropped some but since Thursday has come back up over 2 feet. There is not a lot of COLD weather in the near future, they will have to be very careful out there.

IW, hope you are feeling better soon. My brother is having roto-cup issues. I guess moving snow and firewood doesn't help him much. The ski area has 11 cabins that he has to keep the woodbox full, plus his own.

Wife got some of the gifts wrapped yesterday, will finish up today. I made pasta with vension meat balls yesterday. She said that was what she wanted when she got home. It was pretty good if I must say so myself. May have some leftovers for lunch.

By the way, Raq, you can have all the reindeer mix you can get. I got the Rasberry Crumb....lol

Have a good day....h2l

30* calm morning. Maybe a little snow the next to days. Thankfully they FINALLY got the e-way rebuild pretty much finished so it will be open for those coming to celebrate Christmas with us. it has been going on since early spring. Over where my wife's daughter lives a road has been under a rebuild since February. It is still not finished as it still needs the final layer of black top so it is limited to only local traffic. A convenience store on one end has suffered a huge loss of business since February.

Eddie that was the only time I tried that box and spring trick. I now have a couple of good live traps. Not the Havahart traps that a critter can back out of if they do not lock. I have been tempted to set them to catch the cats that are wandering the neighbor hood. I would be tempted to paint them orange before I release them. It is to far to take them to animal control or I would take them there. The other night the wife got up and the back porch motion sensor light was on. When she looked a cat was sleeping on the railing of the porch.

The level of our lake is way above the set level. Some of the lake front owners are concerned as come ice out their seawalls cand be damged by the big ice sheets can be blown into them taking them out. The new guy that is running the pumps to keep the lake level told some one he answers to no one. The lake over where I come fron has the lake level lowered during the winter to keep damage from happening. Lowering the level early enough does not cause problems along the edges.

ww I knew you were not done the first time you said you were. You probably will find some thing else to bake when you get to your destination.

It looks like I am going to let my primary doc take care of my diabetes. I can not understand why my Diabetic specialist has to renew my one heart meds but will get that straightend out when I see my regular doctor on the 9th. When I asked  for the heart med. to be sent to where I am getting my meds from he sent it to another one. He made some remark about the pharmacy when I saw him last week. It is not with the hopsital complex that he is with. I can not understand why he has changed his treatment of me. I have been with him since I was diagnosed with diabetes back in 2010.

IW Hopefully you can find a cure for your choulder pain soon. Happily my shoulder pains come and go. One norco a day takes care of most of my pain along with the pain stimulator in my back.

Good morning everyone

25 with a slight breeze, giving it a +12 feel to anything that you have poking out ???

Eddie hope you can beat the dead line for Christmas shopping  I always like the little Mom and Pop stores. They are fun to look around in an every once in awhile they have something the big stores forgot to stock. I have a buddy that lives across the river in WI. Years ago (25) he caught a musky on a bait called a Bunyan. He had bought it at a little local shop a couple of days prior to his trip and as luck had it the fish destroyed it. As was custom he brought the fish around to all the local bars getting a free drink from each. He finally went back to the little shop to replace the bait only to find that the owner had jacked the price up by $10. The owner had been in one of the bars and heard the story and beat it home knowing not only that my buddy needed another Bunyan, but also no one else carried it :roflmao: :roflmao:

mr.clean the limit for Walleye here and possession limit is the same. Hope you have a good Christmas if heading to your Sister's house. Safe travels Sir!

IW I sure hope you can get the shoulder pain behind you I feel bad for you. Don't you have to watch the Patriots today?

h2l The pasta sounded Great! Glad your wife is home and has an appetite to boot

TT Hope your Christmas celebration all goes well with family. I am guessing our cold weather next week will be shared with you :%$#!:

WW That was a very nice Christmas wish, and I couldn't agree more. Thanks you and Mr.WW for all the fish porn during the on and off season and all the fabulous pictures of all the baked goods

Not a lot going on here these next coming days. They are talking a healthy snow storm after Christmas with temps getting into the minus readings. I guess it's time as we have been very lucky up to now.

When I was with Oliver I spotted something very similar hanging on his wall . I couldn't take a picture of his, but it was basically a wheelbarrow tire that was painted green, had lights on it like in the picture, with some icicles . I commented on it and Oliver said Christmas is what you make it.  Cheers Ollie!

Wishing everyone safe travels and a glorious Christmas with  friends and family.

Merry Christmas Eve Eve gang,

Been busy the past few days so I haven't posted anything. Hope everyone sick or in pain gets on the mend soon!

IW, to answer your earlier question... my brothers farm about 2,800 acres total. Most of it is rented and leased ground. They own about 900 acres total, but that includes about 250 of woods and about 150 of pasture. They are milking about 250 cows and they also do custom fieldwork for other farms and sell custom grain mixes to other farmers for their animals. My parents run a retail farm store that sells the farm's meat and cheese that they have made with our milk, along with seasonal vegetables.

As a Federal employee, I am in the middle of the shutdown now. I am considered an essential employee so I am required to report to work even though I won't get paid until after the gov't reopens. The bigger bummer is that all vacation and leave time is cancelled during a shutdown so you are either at work on your scheduled days or you are considered furloughed and will.not be paid for days you had scheduled for vacation time. My wife and I are surprising our girls with a trip to Texas to visit my b-i-l and his family next week so I will now have to take 3 unpaid days to go on the trip. We will open presents Christmas morning and then drive to Syracuse for a 2:30 flight. We will get back very late next Sunday.
Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! Stay safe, feel better, good luck, have fun, and take care! Talk to you all again soon  :)

fish all day and make up lies!

WS You guessed wrong just like the weather guessers. Looking at the mid 40's by mid week. I was talking to my retired Air Force  neighbor the other day. His last duty station was in Fairbanks, AK. I told him that from when my brother was stationed their it seemed like every time it was warm down here it was cold in Fairbanks. He said his buddy up their that he helped put in an outdoor skating rink for the kids called him the other day. His buddy started on the rink the first of November. It was Thanksgiving before he got it finished because it was to warm to make ice. I guess my theory went out the window as I do not think it was not that cold here.

Good evening to all ERS!!!
Little frustrated...OK WAY FRUSTRATED!!!
I took sometime this a.m. and had a lengthy post and I see the ragone cyber bullies stolen it.. lol
Not sure what the heck happened, I'm not going to do it all over again, I'll just start from scratch!
Got a couple deer in today from the Seneca's( native americans)
They don't have any season on their wildlife.
I'll keep taking them as they bring em.. usually I'm completely done cutting by Christmas but not this year.. I'm gonna let them hang in cooler a few days and try to relax a little and catch up on some NEEDED SLEEP!
Was out in shop this a.m. before 6.. cutting and working on smoke meat.. I have at least 5 days more work to go..
Then what???
Gonna have to find something to keep me occupied as there isnt any fishable ice yet by me(of course the year I go buy a new ion auger)
I started seeing a girl end of oct..
Appears that she certainly isnt at the same point in her life as I am(shes 12 years younger) so.. back to bachelorhood... when it's my week to have the kids I have plenty to do.. it's just that off week they arent with me, ll go crazy.. lol
New pup is here with me now.. I get the kiddos back Christmas day.THEY ARE GOING TO BE SOOOOOO EXCITED when they see him!!!
Been able to keep it a secret for 3 weeks!!!!!
Well I'm going to try to post this entry and see if it works.. have a great night everyone!!!!!

Woke up to another skiff of snow again this morning. After it quits I will take my leaf blower down to the pavilion and blow the debris off of the basketball court and a path for people to get in. I am going to have fun with the gal that manages the place when I tell her to light the water heater as it is her job. I will take the grill off of the cold air return of the furnace if it has not been cleaned.

John
One thing I learned after losing many posts is that when the red warning shows that another post has been made. I just go ahead and post what I have typed. If you go looking to see what that post was you will lose what you have typed. The only way I have found to get around it is to open the thread in another window with out closing the one with my post in it. On anther site I am on I can forget to hit the post button and move on. I can come back to the thread hours later and my post will be still be their waiting for me to post it.
Do not get down as there is a gal out there that is the right fit for you.

IW I think I took some Tramadol years ago. I do not remember if it helped my pain or not. I take one norco every morning to ease my pain. Itis very seldom that I take another one. I was ridiculed by the pot heads when I said I was taking it. I had voiced my being against recreational MJ. It got passed to make MJ legal in November. Only going to be legal to smoke it in your own house. What a joke.

Be glad that you are not a fan of the Lions. A junior high team could beat them. If the people would quit going to the games maybe the owner would clean house and start over so they might be able to beat their way out of a paper sack.

edit
ww Sorry I ignored the red warning about you having posted. I saved what I had posted that way. Glad that your trip was uneventfull. I am sure that you grandson was happy that you were there for his hockey game even tho they lost.

12 heading to 26 later today. Big talk of a  10"- 12" dumping of snow toward the end of the week, followed by plunging temps. Then they tell us about a different computer model and what it is predicting which is totally different. So I guess between Wednesday and Friday I will just look out the window Lol

Thanks Eddie and OG, I appreciate it  We were married in 91 so that makes it 27 years. It sure has been a pleasant blur. Good luck winding up the shopping Eddie  and OG enjoy your get together

IW enjoy your family get together it sounds like a fantastic get together

54, Merry Christmas to you Sir!

WW I am sure you are all settled in for your time with the family and Grand kids  Enjoy your time Ma'am!

TT no more guessing here, I will look out the window before  crying wolf :roflmao: Enjoy your party Sir!

We are just hanging out for the day. Tonight I am making my drive up north to visit the cemetery. I believe we may look at a few lights upon my return.

May you all have an excellent time with friends and family.

Enjoy your Christmas Eve day and Eve
