And there’s the other, I’ve said it a million times I’ll help anyone with any info. You flat out wanted spots and I want to hear that dirty little mouth say it!  ;D jk, but not really. Anyway these posts will set you up for success if you follow them now it’s on you.
Lmao :roflmao:
But seriously, great stuff. Those videos and old threads are priceless Frank.
It all comes down to just getting out there and trying things. When I started fishing many years ago as a kid, I just headed out exploring. I think the old bathymetry maps were just in print then. You learn a little every time you get out.  There were no such things as forums , or computers, for that matter..lol
That being said, I finally caved to technology, and  now find some really great stuff on here. And some great people that are nice enough to share their thoughts. The search button is your friend.

Absolutely, I’m 100% self taught. Though you start out handicapped, I think you end up in a far better spot. Almost every kid I grew up with who had dads that were stud outdoorsman all suck to be honest with you. My old man is a tidal smelt guy and I love doing it too but I wanted to catch trout, so guess what figure it out pal! We didn’t have all these resources, I was the very end of the kids who still didn’t have phones in school and used encyclopedias. Now get off my lawn! Lmao

The NH Fish and Game website can help with the body of water and species(as others have said), then pairing that with Navionics to get a better detailed contour map to find locations as well has worked for us.

But I guess they always get what they need, I’m part of the younger demographic but still I started out alone with very little and worked my way to find the fish and make it work, I hope he posts success pictures and gives some good info! Here’s to all the good on’s On the shanty

I decided to stay out of this one because it was so well covered,I didn't see the need for another old codger. To.ppe up saying how in his day he waded through waist deep snow (ankle deep on every one else)telling how he cut through 3 ' of ice with a butter knife. .  To catch 4' long pickerel with a hot dog... OK it's Friday, works dragging.tomorrow can't come soon enough. .OP.. you got alot of good advice here, go forth fish, post your results,  help will come ,we as a team will  guide and support you  you just have to put forth an effort to earn the trust...good luck!
