my cleanup plans include a metal detector for any pallet nails that survive the blaze.  So I dont see a littering ticket for that. guess we will see. The C.O. I met out there seemed pretty reasonable

I've caught gitch.  Shoes. Fishing rods. Countless sandbags. And other mysterious items from the chain lakes; the fact your your looking for the right way to go about a bonfire and willing to metal detect your nails tells me you will pick up the beer cans, mickeys and garbage that goes along with such shenanigans so I say giver'!

Out on Pasqua today kept four good keeper walleye, ice is thick probably 4ft never seen it like that but trailers are off lots of snow out there

Heading out to Katepwa tomorrow. Anyone know how the access is at the north end of the lake?

 Question, If you had access to anywhere on the west side of Katepwa lake. Would you stay in the 30 - 40 FOW or would you try deeper water. I know a few weeks ago they were limiting out in 30 fow. I haven't gone out much this year but I want to go out one more time and not drill a whack of holes. Pick a spot and stay since the ice is so thick.

What's the access like at fort San? Can you even get on the lake? And if so how deep is the snow out there? Could a couple trucks plow their way through?

Family and i are off to hit Echo tmw.  I hope they start biting soon.  Would be nice to catch some fish on my birthday! Actually, I'm just glad for the anticipated +3 weather!!

Katepwa today. 6 and 11 lb pike. 4 lb Burbot. 2 lb walleye, 0 tullibee!!! and a nice catch of perch. 28 fow. Was a little heavy going if you're breaking a new trail, but 4x4 with good tires is no problem.

Was on echo yesterday and it wasnt bad at all as long as you keep your speed up, I'd imagine pasqua is no worse. Not a bad evening.

Back to Katepwa today after a good day Sunday. Huge bonus was using our old holes. Only had to drill a couple of inches to clean them out. Perch were ok but deep. 30-40 fow so we didn't grind too hard. Swim bladders were blowing up.  Only 3 small walleye. But the tip-ups were on fire. Figure we chased at least 13 flags. Iced 5. 2lb, 6lb, 2x7lb, and an 11lb. Lost a huge one at the hole because the ice was too thick and the gaff wasn't long enough!!!

Talked to a buddy of mine yesterday that fished Mission there was a group of younger guys fishing beside them couple 100yds away when they left my buddy stopped and fished some of their holes only to dig up 16 perch they buried under the snow he took the perch home for his family to eat. The authorities will be notified and he hopes to see you dummies out there this weekend for a chat. Quit fishing deep water if your not gonna eat the fish you catch or let em go if the air sack is not out this revs me up!

Hope those jerks get a severe tongue lashing. Seen somebody just burnt their shack down at echo as well and left all the mess, what a joke some anglers are.

Snuck out to the fort after work last night again, caught about 9 eyes in 2.5 hours so the bite wasn't too bad.

Yeah that shack has been like that for awhile, looks like one burnt down at lutherland pretty recently. Eyes have been biting pretty good on pasqua.

I just couldn't get on the walleye today... Fished Pasqua all over  and only caught one and two pike but one spot did give some fun with 25+ tullibee from one hole

Well hit up Pasqua today and we hammered the eyes there were 4 of us out caught well over 50 eyes all a pound and bigger and a few dinks about a dozen jumbo perch and couple dogs it was a good day out
