Jiffy Pro 4 Question

Does anyone know what the small black rubber tubes that comes out of the engine block and goes behind the muffler guard is? there is 2 parts to it> mine came off yesterday i was able to put the part back int the engine block but the end of the tube is cracked and won't hold the second piece.
Good part is it still starts and runs like a champ.

Sounds like a breather tube ??
