What an awesome time! We were just planning on going out to pull my shanty off because of all the rain we got the night before. The slush was so bad that I pull him the entire way out there in the sled. The day before I left work early to cut the hole and get everything set up so when I picked him up from school we could just sit down and spear. When we got there after I got him the visibility was on 1 1/2-2' and he was bummed out because we couldn't see very well. We were surprise when we got back Saturday morning, after all the rain, we could see very well. Sweet, lets see what happens. Well here's a short, poor quality video of what went down. I can't post a pic of the fish but here's the video...enjoy.

Fish was 30", my son has learned the art of holding the fish out at the camera. Maybe he has listened to a few things I've shared with him

very cool, dont take any insult here cause im sure you already know this but ur son needs to lower the spear head just below the water surface so you dont get that splash but he got it so thats all that matters

Yep, we went over that several times before hand but in the heat of the moment it just didn't go down that way. We both have a lot to learn!
