TC upgrade for the LX-3

 I recently bought a used MarCum LX-3 and I was wondering if the TC upgrade is worth the $50, a guy from MarCum said that if I mostly sit in a shack then it's probably not really worth it, but if I hole hop a lot it makes a big difference in the sun. I was wondering if this is true or if the regular colors work fine if it's sunny out and you just shade the unit with your body  any input from those who have the LX-5 or an upgraded LX-3 would be greatly appreciated. I have the LX5 and I think the red, green, yellow, in descending order, gives you more definition
then the red, orange, yellow, especially in the sun.

The TC upgrade changes the LX-3 from a 2 LED unit with one blended color to a 3 LED unit with 3 separate colors. The old colors were Yellow, Orange, and Red. The upgraded colors will be Green, Yellow, and Red.

i'm pretty sure it improves the seperation between targets because it doesn't blend colors

I got the upgrade for my LX-3 last year and I think it was well worth the $$. I've noticed the separation to be alot better with 3 different colors as opposed to 2 colors and 1 blended..

the upgrade is pretty thorough and they make sure the entire unit is in reconditioned form- I have one and it is quiet, accurate and crystal clear.
