I know Gander has them for around 4.99.   I always like to support the local bait shop if available.

I am going to try them out this year for the first time too.   I have high hopes!

I think I have exactly the same question as the original poster.

Everyone says a Hali is good for perch but there are so many of them.  Which one is the one to use?

There is no such thing as to the best color, you must buy a lot of colors. Best to have it and not need it then to not have it and need it.

Green has treated me the best on several lakes.  But I would shoot for a variety too.

I use the Hali Sukkula  and Aatu in various colors. I got the majority of them at the bait shop I frequesnt most, but have picked up some at Sportsmans Warehouse.

I agree.  I couldn't have just one.  Then again read the Jigaholic post.   ;D  Buy what you can afford in a few select colors like the orange, chartreuse/green and a natural color-silver or gold.  Those 3 would be a good place too start.  Just my 2c.

the perch color in various sizes is a nice choice also the copper with the rose stripe has been known to entice a laker or two......Diamond jigs seemed to be the perch killer for last year... 2.50 each but i'd pay 20.00 each if i had to

Fish307 has a bunch.  I find the silver and Blk perch striped and silver and Blue perch striped Sukkulas (25-35) size to be effective on perch but depends on your water color and what there hitting on.  You may have to get a small selection.

Hali Sukkula.  When I first came on IS, I had that same question.  There are several different Hali lures.

Looks like this, but lots of different colors and a few different droppers you can add

Perch colored Hali Sukkulas, size 25. Replace the chains with Northland Sting'r hooks.
I've seen those sting'r hooks and thought the chain on the hali is 1/2 the reason they catch so many fish!  any vibration just wiggles the bait like crazy through the chain, and the chain itself also helps to add some vibration/chatter in the water that a fish can hone in on.

Id have to say, I'm a bigger fan of the 50mm, smaller ones just don't sink quite as fast.

All colors work great. Never had a problem with hooks - just rebend if it gets straightened out. We use them for bluegills too AND found out they catch bass like crazy. Last January I could not keep the bass off. Of course they had to go back in, but a real blast to catch.

I can tell you that they catch walleye, perch, bass, pike- and even muskie. Cant say I've ever landed a muskie off one, but I've lost plenty to them.
