Years ago, I inherited my dads chisel and used it up until a few years ago. It was a great design...one year the pipe broke at the threads as it was a 3 piece unit that threaded together...it had a wide curved blade as well. Was this a Laconia chisel?
I now have the Jiffy Mille Lacs but I chiseled through many feet of ice on Winni for many years!
Oh and the jiffy is just a back up to my Ion...love that Ion!

Lost my Mille Lacs last year (liked it fine, but I messed up and went with too short of one, being cheap) other than being too short it worked good and held up well. Bought a longer one-piece Redneck chisel and it has performed just as well through limited use as of yet. They (eskimo) make a 2-piece too. Not sure either one is any better than the other.

My buddy has one of those, it was his grandfathers.   It’s crazy sharp and cuts a nice round hole with not much effort.
I just want to go ice fishing and ignore my adult problems

My nephew has that chisel now...is your buddy’s name Shane? That chisel would have been his grandfathers...

I'm a poor white boy.... I make 2 piece pipe chisels with blades from a paper trimmer. Not as good as some, but better than others.

I have 2 of the  Redneck chisels.
I have the full length 2 piece, that mainly is my safety chisel for exploring.
Also I have the hammer, looks like a war hammer. It's what I use for cusk lines, I LOVE it.

We've made a few hand small chisels for checking cusk lines out of pipes and wood chisels. They work awesome and you cant beat almost free
