Lowrance question
« on: Dec 18, 2020, 05:48 PM »
Ive got an older Lowrance hook 3x, with a normal transducer i use on my kayak. Can I use that transducer ice fishing? Its connected to one of those Scotty kayak transducer mounts, so its pretty stable. This is the arm that the transducer is connected to.

Did that very thing for years with an H-Bird Super Sixty till a I got a great deal on a Vex FL-8 in the 90s. It's especially god because you're used to reading it. If is has GPS now you can walk to all those waypoints you've saved. I say, "Go for it!"
To fish or not to fish? That's a stupid question!

May your tip-up spool while your flag raises with hopes of landing the big one.

I would use it on that holder and mount the hold to a 2x4x12" Depending on the size hole you use. Could go with 7" long on a 6" hole.
If it tips to the side just drill a hole through the 2x4 width wise and run a metal rod through it.
