Fished from 730-130PM off ironwood with tons of water on top and a bit of wind....lost a tip-up down the hole....it was a Heritage Laker with an orange Polar Therm base....so if anyone gets a striper or pike with my tip-up being trailed behind it let me know...

I had a similar experience yesterday on the ice, had a large pickerel on and when I gently lifted the tip-up he ran hard and nearly pulled my Jack Trap out of my hand, reel was spinning like mad, I kept thinking, "I wonder if anyone ever lost a tip-up like that".

I had my 5 in the water and walked the 300 yards to my truck to put my cell phone in my truck to dry out after it fell onto the water on top of the ice...came back out to find 4 tip-ups on top of the ice....with all the water funneling down some of the holes, holes that started at 10" were well over that in a short time and anyone who uses Polars knows they are only 10.25" so starting with a 10" hole I don't have a whole lot to play with....but they do float so I'm guessing theres a big fish swimming around the Pac with my $40 tip-up in tow...that 7 tip-ups I'm down this year (6 were stolen from me)

When you descibed the rig that you lost, I thought "that's strange, it sounds like the rigs that were stolen from the guys truck".  I guess you never recovered them, all I can say is that people that you don't know were on the lookout for them.  Did you bring any fish up through the ice?  Did the phone recover?

I broke the only rule of ice fihsing for stripers and paid the price:

NEVER WANDER MORE THAN A 30 SECOND RUN FROM ANY LINE IN THE WATER!
