Most lakes are wide open. Many small farm ponds are capped and did find one decent sized lake capped with about 1 inch of ice. It's a start! This is Northeast PA.

Here is Sylvan Lake. Not much to report but the wind was howling. Lots of Ducks in the open water!

Thanks for the picks! Same old story; Clipper out of the Northwest and the wind generally blows for a couple days at least. Too bad; we'd be getting ice here in the South now if not for thew wind. It's a start, though....

Took a drive to Rose Valley d/t went to Williamsport today after work.  Wind was howling horribly.  White caps.  Did see ice on the edges and down by the bridge on the north launch, had ice out further.  The back bays on the other side of the road had some ice on it..NOT SAFE ICE.  Was 18 degrees at 2pm.  Water temp was 38.  Its coming if the wind settles down.

Definitely more promising then what we have here yet. Waiting to see what, if anything, this cold weather has produced. Hoping for a couple local ponds to freeze up just so I can drill a hole and drop a like! Fevers had me for awhile now! Haha
