The only problem with going on the ice at hunters is the parking. If there is good ice the lot there will be jammed. If the ice is good on the main lake, I'd suggest the winter launch. Loads of parking and the bathrooms there are open also. There's nothing like fishing the channel, how about it Russ

I would also say the winter launch, you have all the over flow parking lot on the left.and yes there was a few crappie over 12" and one at 14 1/2 "

The channel can be good. Especially when there is a stronger current. During the last outing alot of people were fishing out on the big flat and it is usually no good there. You also have the beach area right around the corner that has produced in the past.

You won't be sorry. Last year was my first shanty outing. Marshrat does a real nice job of putting it together. The people that were there were great. Its a real can't miss event!

LOL. Ok Slider. There are several places to stay in State College and one or 2 in Bellefonte. There is a Ramada pretty close to the lake(milesburg), but I think you have to call to check availability there.

There is a place not to far from the lake called Cherry Ridge Cabins. We use to stay there all the time in the spring. These cabins were built by the owner with lots of passion. These will be some of the nicest little places you will ever find. If anyone is interested, I'll try to find a # for you to call about avalibility. I'm not even sure if he has them for rent in the winter.

there is a bed & breakfast place in marsh creek, across from the. liberty sportsman's club. 5 min. from the lake.

Kevin (Fat_Boy) made that. We need that whole lake to freeze like last time(but without the slushy snow on top). Would be nice to use the winter launch parking area again.
