Nice list, the only thing you're missing are the reasons why they're not biting....  Let me know later in the season, I probably can help you out with that

-Too cold, fish are hunkered down
-Not cold enough, fish are too sporadic
-Bait is too small
-Bait is too big
-Missed the morning bite
-Missed the afternoon bite

"Hope" is not a good fishing strategy!

It's not been purchased yet, but I've got the funds for a strikemaster auger; that's gonna be my big equipment buy this season. If this weather keeps up like it is, I'm gonna need it, too.

Oh, I'll also pick up a jet sled to haul all my crap.

If I were to brag about my inventory? It would be how I can do more with less. And I have.

only bragging rights I have is the fact I live the same distance from both lake desmet and tongue river reservoir and my job allows me to go every day. My wife on the other hand only allows every other!

The best piece of equipment I think I ever purchased was the strike master light flight and a Milwaukee fuel drill last year. From what I've heard guys who have the strike master 40-volt love it too. What I like about the drill and the light flight is how light it is how fast it drills and how compact it is to transfer. Also if you're a deal hunter you should be able to purchase a light flight and a drill for cheaper than buying the strike master 40 volt. Both options are great though. I got both of mine on sale, the drill for $220 with two five amp hour batteries and the light flight for $150.

I've looked at the drill combo options, but I just want the strike master, ya know? Big batteries, lights, one unit, all that jazz. Appreciate the info though! Have you checked the lakes since this cold snap hit? I'm thinking I'll bug off outta work early and head out to Gelatt or something and see if I can't get on the ice. Spud bar needs a workout.

Strikemaster 24v is about the price of a drill and one of the composite augers with centerpoint combo.thought about selling my ridgid octane/clam plate and both 9ah batteries and getting the strikemaster 24v Myself.its about as light as s drill auger combo too.

Was thinking same but more like dragging all out on ice by hand and dragging it back to car on foot.. best to go to fish and  not look threw gear on ice to decide what you need and don't need .. honestly I can use all the fancy gear you can carry...  but how fast can you move hole hopping with it ect or one spot to another.. that's why it's bset to go threw seveal times early to get to the bare min of what's needed ..

I got two foot locker sized boxes full of ice gear in house plus about 6 shanties in garage  6 ice augers..I had twice this at one time but since sold a lot off to friends ..

but  always go threw and grab a rod a box of jigs and my flasher..  and throw that in a bucket or really small sled .. find the auger with  clam plate and a spud  start walking and drilling even though I got all that gear I don't need it all..
