I'll take some of that heat.

After midnight here in Soldotna at -15F on the dog house in the front yard.....and at this same time KENAI is 16 ABOVE ZERO along the Inlet. That's a 31 degree difference in TEN miles!  In 43 winters on the Peninsula I've never seen that kind of spread. Big Lake is 16 above too. Must be wind blowing straight up the Inlet over the water.

Last trip to the shack the temp difference from LL to the valley was 65 deg.

May be a good weekend coming up to head to LL.  RAIN in Homer forecast for a week straight. Gonna push some warmer weather northward no doubt. So this week that the school kids are home would be ideal for taking them out to area lakes and doing some comfortable fishing.
