heading up to houghton lake in a couple days just checking on ice conditions and see if anyone is catching fish.

Reports I have seen said 19 to 20 inches of ice. Stay away from the pressure crack on the west end pf the lake or you may go for a awim

 They are driving cars and trucks on the ice. I was in town this morning and there were several out there.I just saw another crack has opened up along the south shore and it has open water in it about 4 inches wide

I was on there thursaday in a ranger and had a heck of a time with all the snow.  It might be better now that there has been a lot if traffic on the ice since then.

Last weekend drilled  a hole 30 inches of ice. Had my silverado out there
