Live bait or jigs

It seems to me with minnows the crappie tend to be larger then the ones I catch on jigs.Thats just my exp.I would like some input,maybe its the jigs Im using thx.

It seems to be personal preference. Been doing as well as anyone on my lakes using mainly a #10 Diamond Jig in glow red and a glow brite nuggie, friend likes a Jiggin Rap and waxie on a dropper, other friend only uses live pinhead minnows. End up with about the same catch every trip though on some nights they will show a definite preference for one over the others. Not opposed to changing one bit when it's obvious.

Did pretty well with a spike on a yellow genz bug

Where i fish, they wont touch anything but a TINY jig (diff. colors, Diff. days) tipped with a spike. I really dont know why. Theres only a handful of spots that hold a good number of crappies around here.

i use a jig tipped with a very small shiner/powerbait maggot,  they like the shiners
