When I drove out there last Sunday there were no heaves all the way from the boat launch to the shanty village. There was little snow and the kids were putting on the skating miles like crazy. This idyllic picture could look quite different depending on what they get for snow over the next day or two.

These two were caught off Etter's last winter - in case you need more incentive.

Went on the ice at Rowan's sunday morning and went south from the marina, no bites all morning, 1 missed fish on a tip up. Moved spots and started heading north and manage to bring home a few walleye (17-18") and a handful of perch. All in all not a bad day for only being out a few hours. Found the majority of the fish in 25 feet of water.

Appears to be a heave a bit north both of Etters goes east across lake either go shore to shore and get around heave on west side or come on ice south of Arlington somewhere and miss heave.Unaware of if heave can be crossed anywhere other than shore.

Hey all you LML hard water finatics what's going on??? I can't believe it's been 8 days since the last post for this forum. Has it been that slow
for everyone or is the cold weather keeping people at home. This weekend looks a lot better (praying there's NO wind) and hopefully we can all get out to do what we love to do. I see another truck went through by the old causeway on Buffalo Pound here the other dayB.C plates I understand so he probably had no clue as to the thin ice around there. Stay safe everyone and tight lines

Well I was out today for 6 hours. I caught one 14 inch perch and a 7lb pike.
I knew it might be a bit chilly so I used the double sunflower instead of the Big Buddy today. Kept the tent toasty warm but fishing outside was no fun. I was north of Collingwood in 25 feet of water.
Old fishermen never die, they just smell that way.

Hi anglerbrian. We must have been close to each other. I was about a mile North of Collingwood in 33’. No luck.

Can anybody tell me the ice thickness on LML around the stone barn or elsewhere. Do I need the extension on the auger after all this cold weather? Hoping to get out next weekend.

just take it then you'll have it...ice thickness varies by at least a foot on different spots on that lake

Hey Fishing fanatics, has the bite improved at all up around Etters or are they still hard to get to commit.
It's been slower up there the past couple weeks was just wondering if anyone has had any luck???
Tight lines everyone.

For sure there's one good heave out a couple of hundred yards running North/South. If you stay to the right going south and closer to the rocks you can get around it to get out deeper but going left (North to White Rock) I'm not sure exactly if it gets in your way or not, but I've been told that heave runs for miles to the North so depending on where you wanna go it may or may not be an issue. I've only been down there once this year and that was a month ago so it may have changed. Good luck and stay safe.

So so day north of Collingwood. 3 Walleye and 3 perch. Too windy for my liking.

Lol, to funny AnglerBrian.... your so-so day of 3 walleye and 3 perch is a decent to good day for a lot of us on that lake, lol!!!
I would take that any day for the ol Dead Sea. I guess to many days of 6-7hr days to leave the lake with nothing in the bucket
has made me come to appreciate just taking something home. Good job none the less. How's the ice up North?  Still the same I assume
and nothing new to report other than take your extension with I guess.

Coming from Saskatoon this weekend and my girlfriend and son and I are trying to check cisco/tulibee off our species list (I know not exactly what most people target there)...can they be caught fairly good around Etters or would it be worth it to head more south? Thank you.

We have caught tullibee off Etter's on both of our trips there this winter if that helps. We put them back just for you.

Hey Foozie Ice was right at 30 inches. Easy to get around yet with minimal drifts.

Mighty appreciated haha! We don't plan on keeping any but are just trying to check off all the Sask fish species and we don't really fish many places that have them and have seen pics of piles of em at LML
