As mentioned before.......The King

You can also catch a bunch in the bays off of Lake Ontario if they freeze enough for you to get out there.

Point is, it could be any one of those bodies of water on any given day. I fish for perch......that said, I spend my time on ice where I think I can get a limit of quality fish. I have my favorite lakes and bays, but sitting here in September and proclaiming that "Canandaigua will produce a limit of quality perch each time you go" is silly.

It will produce....sometimes.. ... and so will the others. I'll tell you this though, in my experience, you stand a better shot at a limit of quality perch, real quality,  the 5 days before and after a new moon.

I live outside of Rochester. I'm in the middle of perch heaven ;D. Sometimes I can't buy a perch, other times I can't decide where to go for all the opportunities within an hour's drive. I'll be on "lake X" Sunday morning drifting my perch flies. Too windy today :'(.

I'll have to go crappie fishing instead ;D

By the way, the pile in my signature picture came from I-bay a couple of years ago. I could have dropped rotten tomatoes on a fork down the hole that day and caught perch. 2 days later.....nada!

i would rather catch 20 =12+" perch than 50= 9"  perch because of the size difference in the fillets i know it sounds odd to some but i practice selective harvest even with panfish most guys i know that eat fish dont but i dont want fillets that look like fries . my point is a limit of fish is different to each guy and i have gotten my limit of 50 =12+" fish on lake george and several other bodies of water in the adirondacks you just need to be mobile and if you hit smaller perch move you cant gett consistant heavy panfish with little dinks mobbing your hook .

I hear what your saying about the perch being hot and cold RG. I had a cove where you could limit out with a just a bare pimple !

Then someone got the bright idea to use defoliant in the cove to control the Milfoil and it turned this fishery into a algae bloom choked cesspool !  >:(  :%$#!:

Hmmm I think perhaps a fidherman exchange program is needed.  9" dinks? no limit?  NH guys need to come to Oneida and fish for walleye to help us with the burbot, they love em, sit all night in perms to catch em. (cusk) They don't care for the perch either. I think some Nyers would be happy to take some of them off NH & Maine's hands.

Keuka is far and away my favorite lake to ice fish. It can be a frustrating body of water though :-\
