Well, we often spend time in / around St. Paul since that is where my wife's grandmother is (98 years old now and just moved out of her house this past summer), so we're even closer...I'd love to get up that way some day as I've heard some good things and seen your photos now.

A few years back, the 4 out-laws (wife has 3 sisters and one brother) went to Lac la Nonne NW of Edmonton...small lake, but we had a blast with numbers of walleye and a few pike.

I guess I like the adventure...enjoy hitting new waters and experiencing new species.

Live in colorado and can't think of a place I would rather fish. Favorite fish to catch is trout, Brookies to be more specific.

i live in the northeast kingdom of vermont, and can say, that, we have many fish species, that i am so proud that i have either caught or let go, and they include, the rainbow trout, brook trout, large mouth bass, small mouth bass, northern pike, lake trout, yellow perch, ling, brown trout, around my area. I always enjoyed the chance to catch them, and once in a while keep them, but, i find more joy in releasing them.

Hello Guys I am a Newbie, Well to this site anyways! I live in North West Pennsylvania, The most fun I have ever had pulling a fish through the ice would have been when I was 12 yrs. old. I was fishing in the Presque Isle Bay of Lake Erie, I was fishing for smelt when a large school of Steelhead swam through and took my bait. I was using a fishing pole I made out of a broken ultra lite rod someone threw in the trash. I had 6lb test line on and it was a fight I will never forget. I faught that fish for 25 minutes everytime it got close to the hole it would dive down to the bottom of the lake. I finally got it through the Ice and what a pretty fish, I took it to a guy that Smokes fish and gave him half for the cost of cooking it for me, wow was that good. Wouldn't you know I would never catch another one. Of course I don't target those fish even though I had ablast catching that one, I normally go after Panfish, Bluegills-Perch-Crappies, My favorite fish to eat, Next would be Walleyes but I have not caught a walleye threw the ice in probably ten years. I have caught some very nice Pike threw the ice, but I normally go to Western New york for them. Haven't been there in a couple years though.

I live in N.W. Ontario about 2 miles north of Wabigoon lake...where I have my shanty set up . In 10 minutes , after leaving home I can be fishing...if the holes don't freeze up too bad . Prolly go down to -35 C (about 22 below zero F)tonight so will hafta chisel a few inches in the shack.(about 2 feet of ice below shanty)
To-day I only caught two 13 inch walleyes...but I did catch a 32 inch Northern .
Drather catch Lake Trout but prefer to eat Walleyes , so mostly I fish for walleyes .
Lac Suel is an awesome lake in the summer for Walleyes...but it has a slot size, so is hard to catch anything small enough for the frying pan .
Northerns are excellent eating in the winter .
There are so many lakes in this area that when flying over it is like looking down on a huge lake full of islands.

I live in S.E. Michigan.
My favorite fish to catch is probably walleye with big bluegills (10 inchers and up) at a close second.
