I can't think of another activity that has greater brand loyalty than ice fishing. Can you?? :icefish:

Yeah now that you point it out I'm definitely more loyal to my favorite ice fishing brands than I am with any other hobby.

I would say snowmobiles would have much more brand loyality than icefishing.
Granted I use mine for icefishing all the time.
Atv's might be a close second.

I generally don't PK take to that kind of PK marketing. I believe every brand PK stands on it's own merit PK.  I'd have to be an idiot PK to think some goofy marketing plan PK could sway me in that PK manner. Case closed!

You think the Flasher Wars are bad? Go on some of the archery forums and the brand non-sence is way worse!

People can get pretty heated over car and truck brands.

I definitely think some of guys on this site are just employees of the brands that they constantly promote.

I think Archery has a pretty good shot at matching anything as far as brand loyalty. Mathews and Hoyt have a huge long term buyer base

As a former smoker I was pretty brand loyal.  I smoked camel lights and if I was smoking something different it meant I bummed it from someone lol  ;D  Beggers can't be choosers

I have brands that I stick with, but I have been at this long enough to test many other brands. Penn reels was a brand that I used for many years, but I dropped them like a hot rock when there quality went down. I use Shimano reels now, I have not found any other brand that holds up like them (at least for me and my clients that are tough on my gear) and if the quality drops, I will be searching again for another brand (hope not, I have not seen any other that have impressed me). With many other types of equipment, all I care about is that it does the job and does not cost me much money... As to sounders I use a Garmin, it does everything that the more expensive "flashers" do, but for half the money and is made very well, with great customer support. If I could afford it I would use Raymarine, it blows the sock off of almost everything else out there.
As to sounding like I am a rep, I come here to learn from others and to help others (have fun too!). So I am going to "Plug" the product that has worked for me. So as to brand loyalty, only as long as they are loyal to me.

How about we just say Outdoorsmen and their Toys in general. The truck they drive, the ATV or Snowmobile they use, the gun they shoot, the fishing rod they use....etc. etc. etc.....we are loyal to the brands we like.
