Gotta admit I did start looking up the map about 2 weeks ago.  It actually looked like ice was pulling back still but past few days it filled in again.

Found some iced up ponds in the mountains of interior Alaska and Western Yukon this past weekend.  :)

Here's a little ice porn from the South end of Kluane Lake in the Yukon I took yesterday.

Where exactly is the north pole? in the center of the yellow on the top map?
Ok I think I figured it out the straight line that is the border of Alaska on the east side, points straight north towards the north pole.

Love the pics! Cannot wait to get out there, Irondequoit bay today was still 48 degrees surface temp  :(  But at least the perch keep us busy til first ice :)   Tight lines all!

I'm getting excited about 20 degrees for lows and mid to high 30's it's getting closer. Hopefully i'll be out around the 1st of december.

The 10 day in Chicagoland is looking good with mon-sat no hi above freezing and great lows in teens and low 20's. Fingers are crossed.
