has anyone tried this tieable wire leader called knot 2 kinky?
-
I've been using it for about 6 months and like it. No problems yet, with regular leaders or quick-strike rigs.
-
I use it in 18lb. I really like it. Super thin diameter and very flexible.

I use Malin Boa titanium 20 lb. which is similar. You can catch quite a few pike on one leader but eventually it will develop some kinks. I've lost some big pike trying to land one more fish when
I should have replaced the leader.

I started using it last winter. Learned many lessons quickly. Most of the knots I tried would unravel if a big pike hits really hard. Didn't really like the way it tied any way. So then I started using crimp sleeves. I make quick strike rigs so i use a barrel swivel crimp sleave. Then I started running leader through another crimp sleeve around the hook and back up through the sleeve. Again if an big pike hits it hard enough the leader will come back through the sleeve and you will loose a fish. So now I wrap the leader back around through the sleeve a third time. Its been working pretty well now. Though I have broken a couple.

I have been using knot 2 kinky the last 2 outings and it is very low profile and seems to get hit when other rigs are not but knot 2 kinky seems to kink up after one fish if it gets deep hooked and I went through a lot of it yesterday. Kinda disappointed with that but as for knots it works well for me I tie a clinch knot and then do 3 square knots after the clinch knot never had anything break off and my biggest was over 20 lbs yesterday.
