Yep. Been making and fishing them for years. The perch really react to em around here

I have been using slab grabbers for a few years and crush the perch on them.. work really good on Simco for perch. http://www.mcgathyshooks.com

Usually I just clip off the beads and deadstick them in front of a shiner's dorsal fin.  Seems to be a killer combo for perch.  I've never had too much luck jigging them with the beads since it doesn't give room to add bait.
