Around what date do you get out on first ice?

Usually, around what date are you going on the ice for the first time? In here, it is usually around first week of december.

On November 7th this year - my earliest so far!  Still hoping to get on the ice in October some day, but usually the first couple of weeks of November here in CO.

Around Dec 16 most years. Sometimes earlier. Then we have the problem of it all melting sometimes and then it could be after Christmas before it locks up.

Was out last Friday in a blizzard in the Colorado high country.  Caught some nice kokes and rainbows.  Then the highway was shut down for 8 hours  :'(

 sometime after xmas is the norm around here. but its been as late as  mid January a few times too.

We are usually out before Thanksgiving, and by Christmas we are pulling the permanent shacks out with pickups.

last year this time in upper Michigan I was already on the ice..this year its looking like around the 2nd week of December...I cant wait.ive been deer hunting to pass time. >:(

Right after Thanksgiving on good years. This year probably won't be until 1st or 2nd week of Dec. But I did see some really small shallow lakes frozen over this morning. It got down to 6°f Saturday night.

Im very suprised to see that in colorado they ice fish in october!

But as an average, last week of november and first of december is usually the time were everyone goes out on ice.
