for my sled setup i use a medium sized jetsled. in it i bring my 8" lazer mag express power auger, or 7" lazer hand auger. One 6 gallon bucket with 4 beaver dam tipups, one box of assorted hooks, one box of assorted sinkers, one spool of trilene for leader material, a scoop, and a pair of needle nose. another 6 gallon bucket with my st. croix legend jigging rods, jig boxes, some gulp just in case i run out of bait, and anpther scoop. in front of that i have a minnow bucket. on top of the minnow bucket i have my vexilar fl12.

my shanty rig is just my fish trap guide with my heater and lantern in it with the jet sled loaded up and tied behind it. all the weight spread over all the area makes it easy to pull with nothing crammed in anywhere.

the first two things out of the sled are the power auger and vexilar. i don't have to move anything to access these items. since only the heater and lantern is in the shanty it can be setup right away while one guy is drilling. we drill ALOT of holes so the shanty is popped long before the holes are all drilled. the shanty guy then drops the vex in all the holes until we find what we are looking for. then it is just a matter of parking the shanty, setting the tipups and sitting down and jigging.

Comforts on the ice:    Stove
                                2 bottles propane
                                Chair
                                2 buckets
                                10 tilts
12 pak soft size cooler for food and bev.
Coffee Percolator (nothing like fresh coffee on the ice)
                                Auger
                                Small tackle storage

When the fish aren't bitting it's good to have hot food and fresh coffee  ;D

It all depends upon how long I figure I'll be on the ice.  Quite often, it's 4 hrs or less, so I try to (key word being "try") to limit my haul; rod bag, tackle bag, auger, skimmer, flasher, bucket, maybe some light snacks.  If I'm there for the long haul, I'll load up and take whatever I could possibly imagine.  Those are the days I'm using the Skandic to pull everything.  There's no way I'd enjoy pulling it all by hand.

Early ice (when I can't drive out): Sled (or shappell shack if its cold), 6 inch hand auger, bucket that holds tipups/rods/chair/scooper/gaff and bucket that holds the minnows and vex. Everything else goes in my coat/bib pockets

When I can drive: EVERYTHING

Next year I am thinking about getting a jetsled and making compartments out of plywood

Great question for an all day trip

two buckets with seats, tackle tamer rod holders, to rods with baitrunners reels
one bucket has bait
the other has scissor pliers needlenose pliers, microfleece towel, finger less gloves, small tackle box with hooks weights swivels and a small jig/spoon box

the sled has auger and chipper dipper
saftty throw rope and ice picks
head lamp
 thermos of coffee
spare down parka and arctic mitts
three tip ups
wallet with leader material
ice cleats

someday this will be organized around a solo flip up with top of the line flasher

I bring entirely too much stuff with me.  My explorer is full right now to the point I cant even have a passenger in it.

Real early ice:
5" hand auger, Vex, 2 jig poles, 2 5 gallon buckets, forceps, jigs, skimmer, bait

Early ice
Trap Pro or sled depends if I am jigging or tipup fishing, Coleman dual fuel lantern, vex, 5 gallon buckets, hand auger or power auger depending on ice thickness, tipups or jig poles depending what I'm going for, Buddy Heater, bait etc

Mid Ice:
everything listed above.  If I can drive out why worry about bringing too much  ;D  Overnighters add 30 pack, grill, food, sleeping bag, pillow, several pairs of socks and gloves.

Late ice:
Orange sled with 5 gallon buckets and a cooler to sit on and store things in.  Not sure if I will bring hand or power auger.

I bought the medium size jet sled a few weeks ago and it is much better than my old wooden LLBean kids sled.  I pack the following for an all day trip with me and my son:

Inside a large rubbermade container:
10 tipups
percolater
can of coffee
2 cups
thermos of hot chocolate
scoop
small plastic case with extra hooks, line, swivels etc....

In the sled:
5 gallon pail with 2 dozen shiners
2 burner stove with small propane can
8 inch hand auger
1 small folding chair
1 gallon of spring water

small backpack with:
extra clothes for the boy
binos to spy on the other guys
camera
lunch

Left pocket: fish grip
right pocket: needle nose pliars
Bib pocket:  small ziplock with premade terminal tackle in case of a breakoff.

On the really cold days (under 20 degrees) I bring the clam 2000 and a small tent heater (my son drags that)

Thats it~!

Coleman duel fuel stove and lantern,coffee/food, hunting pop-up blind, 2 5 gal pails, 4 jig poles, 5 tip-ups, jigs/hooks/leader mat. etc, palm sized cordless drill, 8"lazer auger, all fits in the wooden sled I just built, will post pics as soon as the poly is dry and final assembly is done.
All of the above plus my little TV. I was happy to hear about the delay in digital broadcasting so I can still use it to watch NASCAR on the ice.

There is one piece of gear that is absolutely required - it's light, doesn't take much space,
and when you got to have it, you GOT to have it.....

TP

UG

PS: A Wal-Mart or other plastic shopping bag is a good place to collect the 'deposits' you make while on the ice.
Make sure to despose of properly - never leave it/them on the ice.

Fishing in the clam "voyager"  I have the following :

Zippered padded carry case with  three jig rods and two extra tip ups.
Rapala soft side tackle box with two trays of jigs / lures, tape measure, pliars, and jaw spreaders.
Vexilar FL-20 with small tackle box.
Aqua-Vu Scout.
GPS / Compass.
Map of Lake.
Foam hole covers for tip ups.
Automatic fisherman with rod.
Two ready rigged tip ups.
Two rattle reels.
Big Buddy Mr. Heater with a minimum of two extra 1 lb tanks, most times 4 full tanks.
small cooler for lunch, drinks, IPOD, watch and Camera.
Frabill 5 Gallon bait bucket w/ extra batteries.
Ice chisel.
ice scoop.
Gaff.
Trash bags
Jiffy Lightning ice auger (8")
small calapsing shovel
towel (to dry hands)
Ice anchors for shack.
Ice picks (on me, not in the shack !!!)

No wonder I get so tired pulling this shack around.

Hope this helps,
