ice conditions have generally been poor so far this winter due to heavy snowfall, but it finally felt cold last night got own to -5 F and 250 miles east of here where we go pike fishing got down to -24 F. should help the ice along nicely. might get out on some of the bigger lakes sooner than i thought.

Its snowing here in central Iowa and is acutally sticking to the roads and grass. Pretty windy out of the north and is around 30 degrees but with the wind chill now down to 15 degrees. Sure beats the 70 degrees we had on Monday!!!! Come on ice

it was jsut starting to look good around here and wammo, a couple nice lows move in and now i seen it was 40 degrees in fairbanks. been in the mid forties here in southcentral and supposed to hold for a few days so we will probably lose most of anything we gained.

Here in Palisade it is 18 degrees this a.m.,just to the north at URL it's 10 degrees.
It will not be long,maybe by next weekend.

Didn't get the snow Anderson got, but we have flurries right now and its only 20 degrees. Getting close.

16 degrees this am in Denver, Co. Not to much longer and we will have some safe ice in the mtns!!!! Cant wait!

We got a our first snow in northeast Missouri today. 26 degree's with a light dusting of snow. bear

Been below freezing in SE MT since last Monday. Getting into the single digits at night. Won't be long now. Rumors of more artic air moving in the first part of next week.

it's 12 F here in Northern Wisconsin with the forcast of 5-7 for tonight and wont get above 30 for 3 more days at least.........
i believe the ice is a singing to me and at daybreak , or whenever i wake up , I'll be out checking to see if any of my favorite holes locked up overnight

Got down to about 16F last night and the little pond below the house is frozen. Don't know how much ice. If we don't get wind to stir things up the freeze up should come soon.

First report of fishable ice in the high country. Will be going after some trout and kokes next weekend on Dillon, CO. Pretty stoked. Plugging the vexilar in right now!

was out of town this weekend and its dang cold so probably won't get out until later in the week, got down to -14 F earlier tonite before it clouded up, now it warmed up to -6 F. calling for lows from -15 F to -22 F all this week ;D :tipup:

brrrrrr. lots of ice on some lakes but to cold for my liking got down to -20 F early this morning and is currently -14 F supposed to get to -22 F tonight. pretty cold for this time of year.

Every night this week is forecast for below freezing, though ;D ;D
noticed sloughs and backwaters/small ponds iced up during deer season--better than the last 3 years
hope to be on the ice here before january

Canadian cold front to hit tomorrow and last for at least the remainder of the week. Some higher elevation lakes were fishable this past weekend. Hoping maybe to get out this coming weekend. That would be early though. The last couple years commenced a week or so into December. Of course, I'm a wimp when it comes to early and especially late ice. I want some serious ice thickness under my big ass.
