Got one of the small Marcum portable cameras last year but is a waste of money, cant see a thing unless in shanty....ugh. Need a camera that can be seen outside
A bad day of ice fishing is better than any day at work!

I've got a seven inch vexilar camera, same issue and I'm not sure any other one is any better in the sunlight.

I'd say they all suck in the sun, you use to be able to get a sunshield thing for the regular marcum camera's. Not sure if they're still available. I got a pancam and use my phone, usually i can position it so my shadow makes it readable. If you rigged up some sort of panner for the portable i would think it has a enough cord to do that.

You could always make a sun shield out of some cardstock or cardboard.

Something to this effect.
