Drove by the north end of the lake today on my way to brant, the thinnest of thin skims anywhere from 10-20 feet off shore on Indian Kettle, Freinds Points and Forest Bay.

We are coming up to Lake George next weekend.  Do you think the ice will be thick enough to fish?

Any updates on the ice conditions?  How thick do you think it will be by next Saturday?

I just got off of Basin Bay. Only about 2 1/2 inches of nice black ice out there. I had to stay toward the edge as it starts to thin out as you get to the center of the bay. Watch out for those bubblers if you head out, almost had a scary incident today trying to get off the ice between two docks with bubblers.

Also, caught a small (21") laker and had three other flags that I'm assuming were lakers, but we'll never know will we  :)?

Good fishing.

Just got back from fishing Huddle bay, went in at 6:30, left at 8:30. The ice was 2 1/2 inches thick and the fish weren't biting, the Very few we got we very small perch. We moved to Harris Bay where the ice was 3 1/2-4 inches. The fishing there was pretty good, there were more, but they weren't very big. We caught mostly perch, a couple sunnys and a pickeral. Where are all the big ones ???.Try again next weekend, hopefully find some bigger ones! ::)

We fished on Brant on Sat. , two flags , no fish in three hours , decided to drive back down along the king . North end was pretty much open , guys parked in Veterans park and fishing the Bays north and south of there. Stopped in Green Harbor were I normally fish and it was wide open , skim ice in spots . South end couldnt believe the guys on at Million Dollar ? News 10 that night said that fishermen told them they had 5 +"  ???  Good Luck Hopefully this weekend !
I spent all my money on fishin, huntin, and beer  , everything else was just a waste!

Welcome to ice shanty Jigger12822 and here is a tip. This site gets a lot of action this time of year and you may need to go back a few pages to find other threads about the lake you are looking for.  I too am waiting for the North End to lock up hopefully be next weekend it will but from some the last reports I saw as of Sunday it was still wide open up there. What part of Lake George do you normally fish?

I was wondering about Northwest Bay. Does anyone have any idea how the ice is coming along up there? I am assuming that it is locked up, but I was wondering if its fishable.

Hopefully with this next blast of cold weather will lock up the north end.  Would love to hit Huletts or Hague this year.

I fish almost exclusively for lakers.  I've gotten them all over in the north basin, from just under the ice to over 100 fow.  Since the north basin never got any good ice last year, I'm hoping this year will lock up and they will be everywhere.  I have fished out of Huletts and Hague, never got up to Gull Bay, ask Mentiply, he is an authority on the Gull Bay area.
