Sorry fellas... I'm having a REALLY STUPID day! I have read the whole string & can't figure out the dropper chain. Also can't open the photos to see what y'alls talking about. Can anybody help this dummy out?
Thanks a lot!

here is a text representation ;)

+----o(===)o----------------- (rod/reel setup)

+ is the hook
- is mono/chain
(===) is the spoon
o is your swivle/tie point for the spoon to your hook and to your rod

Basically just take the hook off of a spoon and tie on a snell of sorts.

If you use mono use heavier line 10-15 lb flouro. It will keep the dropper from getting wrapped around the lure.
Thats why I use the chains also they help agianst the toothy critters.

 Why do you need to remove the treble hook or single hook from the lure?Why not tie the dropper off the existing hook therefore you have two baits???

Primarily, tangling.  Fish under ice usually get a long look at your offering, tangling of chains or mono with a main hook can produce an unnatural profile, or diminish the triggering action of the dropper hook and its bait.

Sometimes that is against the rules and regs.

The new In-Fisherman Magazine came today and there are a couple of articles and pics of dropper rigs both manufactured and home made.

One of the articles deals with using the Maramoska jigs on a dropper.

FYI...

Has the rain a father?
Or who has begotten the drops of dew?
From whose womb comes the ice?
And the frost from heaven,who gives it birth?
By the breath of God ice is given and the broad waters are frozen.
The waters harden like stone and the surface of the deep is frozen.

Just go on google and do a search for hali jigs. Lots of pictures of jigs with droppers.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

The little chains on the jigs seem to add more action than a mono or FC dropper. Ive fished with these for the last 3 years using my aqua vu and the chain gives it alot more action. when you jig the hali about a inch or half a inch the chain folds and the mealworm (dont know american equivilant) dances from side to side or the maggots dance. this is what has caught me alot of fish. the chain is more supple than the mono and gives the bait superior action. Thats my experience with the jigs. ive put the chains on little spoons as well with IMMENSE success.
