I went with an old friend to his camp for grouse ,had 20 flushes, still alot of leaves on . Working his young lab  and us with the heat . Great day brought one bird a piece home . I've had GSP's and English pointers but his black Lab was great for the heavy cover.  Dreaming of ICE!!!!!!! :D

A couple of grouse in the bag last Mon/Tuesday.  Many more flushed.  A few shot at and missed.
Leaves are still up.  Dog is a bit young, my 2yr old, GSP, Faz.  I've posted pictures of him on the snow
sled from last year.  He put up several Paahtriges (that's Mainer for Timberdoodles). The local birds are leaving the area, and the migratory ones are starting to move through--well, at least that's what one local tells me.
It was a beautiful long weekend though!  Looking forward to the next several weekends.
