I hear that comment quite a bit, but the design came for necessity. I got the plywood for free, but its 3/4" maple veneer. The total weight of just the wood pieces when in started was a little over 120#, now it only weighs 70# complete (thats without iceaugers on top) and pulls like a dream.

Nice craftmanship!  Very cool sled.   Understand the free plywood.  The price is right!!   I also have access to free plywood, only what I can get is usually Red Oak veneer with an MDF sub-layer, 1 1/4" in either 8 or 10' length.  Now ya wanna talk about weight  lol.

A classy looking shack!  But I REALLY like the Easy Boy auger!!!  I have one that I've been using for years and love it!!!  Just a side note, I have been running Mobil 1 synthetic ("0" weight) oil for the past four years (I haven't changed it yet!!!).  It makes a huge difference in the really cold weather- much easier to start.

Hey, Icy Mike. I havn't talked to you in along time. I also switched too Mobile 0W oil in my Easy Boy after I tried starting it at -8, and just about dislocated my shoulder! It's a great auger but now I mostly use my bubbies Lazer Mag. It's alot nicer to carry a 24# auger around that cuts better then twice as fast, than the 58# Easy Boy. Thanks everybody for the compliments on the sled!

I like the golden arches.  Maybe you could get McDonalds as a corporate sponsor and ice fish for a living.  Seriously, nice sled, nice design.
A bent rod is a good rod!
