I've never eaten yellow perch. I always thought they were bait stealin, good for nothin, not worth catchin junk fish. A lot of people must like them becuase you always see people on this forum with perch stories. What are some good ways to cook em up if i happen to catch one of these fish?

Buy cracker crumbs or make your own out of Ritz type crackers. Dip fillets in a egg flour mixture roll in cracker crumbs. Deep fry and fight of the crowd. Add a little salt to the cracker crumbs also.
When the ice is on. I'm on the ice.

Around here, NE wisconsin, perch are so sought after that if your were to buy them they cost more than shrimp per lb.  ::)

Are they a pretty boney fish or do they have a good filet?  We catch white perch as well, has anyone ever tried one of these?
Man i am getting the itch some bad.  My portable shack should be here tomorrow and i am getting my license as well. I CANNOT WAIT TO GET OUT THERE ON THAT ICE :o

But what I want to know is how does NJ have ice before NY? Just goes to show our weather is messed up here this year.

:) I am old deal I gut them & cut off head  & leave scales&skin on I do this with perch  pickural used to do bass  &  but kiss them & release  them ... northern pike &  bluegills

ok here is what I found  you bake them   you  pre heat to 325 degrees  for 1 hour  you  keep them in  I do  2 or 3 big fish walleye  or such   when its blue gill  or perch  I try to get as many as  the pizza pan  will hold  like 10 to 15  or so  then I spread marg... or butter  in the cavatity   & top & bottem of the fish  & bake them for 1 hour  then If you done it rite  you then take a fork & peel the skin & scales   it comes rite off  & then you put  butter in a dish  in your mike  wave  & just let the butter  solidafy & then eat from the tail up & then you can pick all the bones   out & they would be in  your hands   & then turn the other side  over & skim the flesh  & there you have it
hope i helped somebody
