Warm Boots
« on: Jan 13, 2010, 10:48 PM »
I picked up a pair of Lacrosse Alpha Iceman boots today. Are they a good warm boot? I hope so because I'm sick of getting cold feet after only a hour on the ice.
My rocky just aren't doing it anymore.

Those boots should be awesome!  I bought a
pair 8 years ago in Wisconsin at Gander.  Mine are Lacrosse
Alpha Burly 1200 gram thinsulate almost knee high, and I have done
everything in them and have never had cold feet. Plus they breathe well
also.  The key is two pairs of moisture wicking wool socks as well.  The
knee high Cableas ultimate wool brand are the best.  I'm wearing mine for the last day
of duck season, and were also going to blast some geese, in a chisel plowed
field in the morning!  Good luck!

they stay warmer if you buy the little felt inserts they are the ones that go on the bottom under your foot

+1 for the Alpha....great boot, mine came with the inner booty thingys....when it's not too bad out, you can wear them with thick socks and no insert. With the insert they can be hot on the ice sometimes.
