When I began really becoming interested in fishing, I had to borrow and beg for equipment.  As time went I graduated from having a tackle box, to not having any type of tackle box, or bag, at least not a single one that can handle all my gear.

I have been Ice fishing for 6 years or so, again I would bum the gear I needed.  Then I bought my first jigging rod, and then my own  :tipup:s.  Very recently I got my own auger.  Most recently I had to buy my own sled ;D  Very proud moment!!

If your gear pile is so heavy it breaks through the ice.... :o.....Then you might have too much. Or too little ice.
