This is my son's second buck. He got it this past Sat. morning at around 9am. I think the mentor program is the best thing the PGC has done in many years. Now if they would just cut way back on their doe tag allotments.

OK I’m just now today figuring out this picture posting thing so please be cut me some slack. That fist one is a double on PA Bobcats, my archery buck from this year, a yote from the line, and how I got my name hooking turtles.  That is a true 50 pound snapper, I have heard allot of people say they saw a 50 pounder but that is the only one I have ever truly seen/caught.

Good Luck to all and be safe on the ice, with any luck it will not be long.

Nice pics,Did you have a cat permit? I've been sending for one,but no luck.I know a group of guys that run them with hounds, they where 6 for 6 last year. They use 12g,and no.4 bukshot,I  turtle too,my best is a 35 pounder,on a line and hook,I,ve switched to a turtle trap,it gets a little interesting with 5- 20# turtles in one trap,my best set so far. No buck this year but plenty of doe meat to cook on the ice, can't wait,it's coming.

Thanks, it is so incredibly hard to find any good land to hunt legally these days it is unreal.  Any buck or deer with a bow is a good job in my eyes.  As for posting more picks I have a few more but not many.  I really do not take many pictures. I will see what I can find in some old e-mails.  I shot a bear in PA a few years back I do not even thing I have a picture of that.  The vast majority of the pictures that I have come from other that had an interest in what I was doing and came along for the ride.

Both of those cats were released, you want to talk about a good time.  K-9’s are easy they just have teeth but cats have 4 feet of claws and jaws!  I got a cat tag last year after 6 years of applying.  It took me 5 days to hook up on cat.  The only good thing about that system is on your 6th year if you have not already drawn a tag you get one that year.

As for turtles I caught him by hand, so I took him home and showed him to a few people.  Then I took him back to where I found him and released him.  I used to go to the P.T.A. trappers conventions they used to sell turtle traps.  I could never get a straight answer if they were legal or not.  In fact the guy selling them said they were not.  To be honest I looked into and I personally could not find anything on it.  If you have a link to anything that say we can use them I would love to see it.  I have not set any lines since they changes the regs as far as you have to get a permit and all of that crap.

The coyote looks like the photo was at Lake Auther.I was considering taking my 22-250 ice fishing at muddy creek, for that wiley coyote.I don't know if that would be legal.
Still waiting for that huge crappie to land in my frying pan.

LOL, great shirt and nice buck!
There’s a fair population of yotes on the land on the other side of M.C. and then down into the prop finger on both sides.  Shooting predators out there is legal.  Shooting predators out there like that would probably not be the safest thing to do.  You would have people falling over in front of the church with a 22-250.

My understanding is that permits for snappers are only required if you are selling them, at least that is how it is written in the fishing regs.  Am I wrong on that?

That is correct, you need a regulation sized hook all lines must be tagged with your name and ect.  I’m not sure about the legality of traps and turtles I have heard mixed opinions and I can’t find any solid info on them either way.  You do not need a permit unless you sell the meat, which is why I did it.  I would keep a few turtles a year for a novelty dish at camp or with company; my main focus was to sell them.

Backyard Deer Games --

Looked out the kitchen patio doors the other day and was able to take some pictures of a momma deer and her twins.  The twins were having a ball chasing each other around the yard...literally taking laps around the yard.  I was able to catch them a couple times as they came around.  Funny thing is I don't live in the country.  I live in the middle of West Easton and there is a group if 10-12 deer that use the old railroad right of way as their home range.

Time for a drink....one of the twins standing on the ice of the fish pond.. ;D ;D
