I LIKE THE TRICK THE FISH COMM. PULLED IN MY AREA THE YEAR THE STAMPS MOVED UP TO $9. I WASN'T EVEN GOING TO GET ONE UNTIL I FOUND OUT THEY STOCKED HARBOR ACRES LAKE WITH NOTHING SMALLER THAN 13". I GOT MY STAMP AND TOOK THE KIDS WHEN THE BASS AND CRAPPIE BITE SLOWED ON LAKE ARTHUR. CATCHING THOSE LARGER TROUT WAS A BLAST AND REALLY LET THE KIDS LEARN A LOT. BUT AS YOU GUESSED BY THE NEXT YEAR IT WAS BACK TO HAVING TO MEASURE THE TROUT TO SEE IF IT WOULD KEEP AND ITS BEEN THAT WAY EVER SINCE!!

I wouldn't even bother with a trout stamp, if I didn't fish Harvey's Lake.

I only get a stockie stamp in case I accidentally catch one or two when I'm fishing at Hunters.  I don't like trout unless they are smoked, and I don't own a smoker.  My mom likes them, so I give any I get to her.

YOU GOTTA GET A SMOKER! WHEN I DO DRAG IN SOME SARDINES IN I SOAK THEM IN THE SAME BRINE I USE FOR DEER JERKEY AND THEN SMOKE 'EM. ITS TOP NOTCH FARE!!
