Cass County
« on: Dec 15, 2016, 10:14 AM »
Drove by Stone Lake in Cass this morning.  Its was about 50% froze over.  Lots of wind lately keeping it open.  It was frozen over on the north side.  Had shore ice all the way around from what I could tell.

Was on Eagle Lake in Edwardsburg on Tuesday evening.  Fishing was terrible but had a bald eagle come in and hover over us for about 5 minutes.  Got some great pictures and video of it.  Very cool sight to see in southwest Michigan.

Sounds like the weather on Sunday and Monday may ruin our fishing for a little bit.

How is the ice holding up with the warmer temps?  Have been out of town for the holiday.  One more day of not fishing for me.  Hoping to be back out Tuesday if we still have some ice.

53 degrees and raining now.  High winds starting around noon.  Wind is going to blow the water up top around and that is really going to chew the ice up.

Ice is holding up pretty good but I would stay away from the bigger lakes....channels are around 5" see smaller lakes around 4"....but don't go out alone...make sure your with someone or there are others out the fishing and within shouting distance.....Be safe!

Oh wait...Fish on!!!!
