Muskegon/Newago area
« on: Dec 10, 2013, 06:28 PM »
Hey guys myself and my buddy are considering coming up to the Muskegon/Newago area for some Icefishing this year. Normally we go to Northern WI and its a 9.5 hr drive for us and he has came up to the Newago area for the last two Octobers for the salmon run. That drive is a 3.5 hour drive for us. So how is the Ice fishing up that way on any given year on average. We like to target walleye, perch, crappie, northern and big gills. So any advice is appreciated like where, when(Jan or Feb).
Thanks in advance guys.

If Muskegon lake is solid it can provide great perch fishing and walleye!!

Hardy and croton ponds are both great for almost everything! Brooks lake can be good for crappie.

Ha yes they did! One of my favorite lakes to fish. Ice is coming along well for this time of the year.

I'm like 3.5 hrs to the South and were getting good ice down here also.
Do you know what the thickness is averaging up there on Muskegon
