Helmet?
« on: Feb 27, 2012, 06:55 PM »
Was thinking about taking my quad on the ice for the first time. Can you give me the rules about helmets? I've seen a lot of guys without them but read you need them? Can anyone help me out!

Eye protection too. Sunglasses or safety goggles are sufficient

you can pull a person in a sled and they do not have to wear a helmet (but recommended)

No orv needed if you keep it on the ice.

I already bought the sticker just to be sure. Now I've gotta come up with a helmet or two.

you learn something new every day and as far as the orv my buddy got ticketed for not having one . they told him no need for a trail permit on a sled if you are fishing but said the rules are not the same for an orv sticker so if thats true i cant wait to tell him he will be pissed. can anyone verify this???

i was told by a bait shop owner in lake city michigan that orv sticker is required on ice unless your atv/sled is registered in your home state. i guess in case you sink it they can send you the salvage bill  ;D p.s. he didnt sell licenses so i dont think he was just trying to make a sale
