It is good to be back and surprising to see many people are already back and ready to talk ice fishing.  I am predicting a good early freeze up this year as water temps are already in the high 40's in places.
The last fish is a 14" brookie and the rest of the fish are all mature salmon preparing to spawn on the Kennebec.  These are the best fish I handled that day out of 18 fish, with the largest salmon in the pictures @ 22" and the smallest @ 18" all caught on a 5wt fly rod.   With most of these fish being Indian pond fish, I would expect some decent ice fishing for salmon in the 20" class this winter.
