Holy jimminnee Christmas!!!

I ordered a pack of extra knife blades & some ice anchors for my Clam shelter as well as the Jiffy Mile Lacs midsize chizel this past Sunday. Got a call immediately Monday morning from Steve @ ThorneBros indicating the ice spud was out-stock and he wasn't sure when it would be in and wanted to know how I would like to handle it. I simply asked him if he 'thought' it might be in stock within the next month and he said he didn't know but there was a chance... well - I told him to just send it to me when he got it and he said he was actually going to ask me if that was OK. I said no problem... got my other stuff in 2 DAYS... and to my surprise - the darn ice spud showed up YESTERDAY... could NOT believe it.

My hats off to ThorneBros... first time I ordered from them and was nothing but an excellent experience. I'm glad I followed YET ANOTHER piece of advice from the many members here

On a side note - purchased the Jiffy Stealth 2hp 8" gas w/ ripper & d'ice armor the other day. Propped & clamped her to two ladders & burned through almost a full gallon of gas. Plan on getting the Opti2 oil next week to get gas mixed up for an ice fishing trip next week

They do have excellent service. I ordered something that was out of stock and they called immediately to see how I wanted to handle it. I live in PA and the shipping is excellent, usually 3 or 4 days and it is here. A big thumbs up to Thorne Bros.

That's why companies stay in business, the bad ones die, the good ones survive. I just went to my local Yamaha dealer and picked up some Opti 2 oil. Mixed it, changed the plug in my Jiffy and filled her up. Purred like a kitten. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Opti 2 oil works. Till now, drilling could mean quite a mess with the clothes.

They do have the best service.....I ordered a Fishtrap from them last year, but before it shipped, they called and said it could only be shipped via truck, at $120.00.....I live in central NY, and had ordered the Voyager. It turns out that I did not buy the shanty from them, but I have bought ALOT of other stuff and will continue to do so....Long story short, they could have shipped that Trap and I would have had to pay the shipping......but they were nice enough to see what I wanted to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't think of many companies that would have done that..........

I would definately follow-up & contact them Pikeman... I'm sure it's probably just something silly ... computer problems or what-not...

But ya - they were awesome - I'll definately be ordering all my online fishing gear from theem in the future

Do you by chance live in Meadow Lake? if you do Thorne bros probably isnt the problem.

they did not use ups as i talked to them on the phone about this as we do not have ups(thorne brothers uses fed ex or thats what the guy from thorne bros said anyways). they shipped it USPS or thats what the guy said but that was a month ago i guess the postal service can get pretty backed up but all my stuff from bass pro got here last week and ordered after i ordered from thorne brothers.

I have also had excellent luck with Thorne Bros. I bought an ice auger and a few other things and they were very courteous and the items arrived the next day. They are great to deal with and have excellent rods.

Pikeman, sometimes things get held up in customs. It can really delay things. I've had stuff arrive in as early as three days, only to order from the same company a month later and have it take five weeks to arrive...I wouldn't get too worried yet...

yeah i know customs can be a real pain, i imagine the rods on its way i just want it cause i've been going fishing 3 times week and would like to test it out.

Thorne Brothers has been very helpful to me as well. I consider them top notch.

Meadow, perhaps you should give them a call and ask them when and how they shipped it. At least you'd know that it hasn't been backordered or something. I'm sure that they'd be happy to look into it.

Put me down as a 1000% percent fan of Thorne Bros. I ordered a Mr. Heater cooker/heater combo unit with the electronic start on Sunday. On Monday John called me to tell me that of his three distributors, only one thought they might have the item (last one in stock). He said he would do his best to find the item and ship it within 2 days. On Tuesday he said that he found one. The heater/cooker showed up today. I love these guys. They will definitely get all of my business for ice fishing tackle.
