Crystal- Ellington

Been out to Crystal Lake at least 5 times this year. Probably more. It’s close to home, and usually turns up some good fish. Not this year.  >:(

I’ve had 4 flags during all the trips COMBINED, yielding two small bass. I have pulled up some nice hog perch jigging, but I am super disappointed with Crystal this year. I’ve tried everywhere on the lake, including my favorite trout/salmon drift that I do all the time in the summer.

It’s very unfortunate too, this is some of the best ice we’ve had on Crystal in a long time.

Today I got out there at 7:00am and left by 9:30 out of frustration.

Crystal always has it’s days where it yields very little, but it always balances out with a day where you slam em. I’ve never had such a bad winter out there.

Consider other spots before you head out to Crystal this year.

That's how I'm feeling about Wethersfield cove honestly. I haven't had any slammer days like I usually do. Really bummed out.  This whole year has been fairly slow for me. Hoping that changes during late season
The BIG one is just one flag away!

Species caught : largemouth, smallmouth,  bluegill, perch, White perch, crappie, trout, catfish, bowfin, pickerel, pike
