I live down the street. The reason I don't spend much time there is the irregularity to that schedule. Seemed to me the MDC officer or sometimes a couple of MDC employees would arbitrarily change those times. I remember yaking to the dam 2 nights in a row in the evening one summer, one night I paddled back at dusk no issues. The next night the MDC officer was flashing his lights to get me back so he could lock up. 30 minutes earlier than the previous night. Or I'd show up in the morning and the gate would be closed...
