The retreate meadows in brattleboro VT. and the Fingers (CT. river setbacks) in Hinsdale NH. both hold good crappies. they can be hard to find in numbers in the fingers though so the retreate would be your best bet.

I'll be giving it a try Feb 3rd weekend. What have you been using for bait for them on tip-ups and jigging? I usually go with moussies or meallies when jigging and minnows on the tip-ups.

I've seen them in Hunts Meadows also.  I caught one tiny one in Weatherhead Hollow Pond and never another.  I've never seen them in Raponda, though it seems like someone dropped some largemouths in there, so it's an ever changing array.  I was looking at the map and I guess there are some in South Stream Pond in Bennington.  I don't know anything about it.  The Ct River's the only place I know has dcent numbers this far south.

I have jigged crappie in the hunts but the fish in the hunts dont seem to school good enough to jig them consistanly. In the retreat jigging rapals with spikes work fairly well, as well as plain jigs with spikes. on tipups small minnows with gold hooks and beadsw work fairly well.
