If you see white caps stay off, other wise if you have shelter I have been on Rock Lake, L. Manitoba, Stephenfield, etc, fishing was not affected. Most rivers it is windy almost all the time anyway.

I say even if you go out and don't catch anything when fishing, as long as you have fun and it gets you away from_______(work,wife,kids..ect.) Then its always worth it ;)
Let's see...Ice shack, auger, snowmobile, rods, flasher, heater...My Walleye averages out to be $67.83 Per Lbs.

Don't think the wind really bothers them at all. Have had some of my best days ice fishing in real nasty weather. The change in air pressure with certain systems moving in might affect them though.
But as MI says, any day fishing is better than a day working.

I think ice season is way to short to say "oh its windy fishing won't be great, I think I will stay home and do nothing". Some places are better then others on a windy day though, small lakes would have less wind.
